November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, and it is a time to bring attention to prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. Some of the leading factors in men’s poor health include lack of awareness and understanding of health issues that men face, reluctance to take action, and stigmas surrounding mental health. During this month it is a time for men to take a step back and evaluate their health, both physically and mentally. It is a time to ensure that you have scheduled an annual physical with your physician, a time to add more physical activity to your days, and to reach out for help if you need it. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Cory Burns, RN at the Funds Office, at 508-533-1400 x128, Andy Franzen at the Union, at 781-364-6322, or to Modern Assistance Programs, at 617-774-0331, for any help or support with regards to mental health or substance misuse problems. Help is available to you at no cost.
